Allison Otto

Allison Otto is an Emmy-nominated, award-winning documentary filmmaker and visual journalist. Her clients have included National Geographic, BBC America, NBC, the Sierra Club, the American Alpine Club, Outside Television and Lonely Planet.

She is a 2019 recipient of the SFFILM Catapult Film Fellowship, a 2019 finalist for a Heartland Emmy for Outstanding Human Interest Special, a 2011 and 2018 Telluride Mountainfilm Commitment grant recipient and a 2018 Roy W. Dean grant recipient for The Love Bugs.

In 2013, Allison released her award-winning first film, Keeper of the Mountains, which screened in more than 30 countries and was named “One of the Best Adventure Films of 2013” by Outside magazine. She graduated from Stanford with a bachelor’s in Communications and a master’s in Sociology.

 

Maria Clinton

Maria Clinton is a filmmaker, photographer and an Adjunct Professor of Film based in New York. Maria is a 2018 Telluride Mountainfilm Commitment Grant recipient and a 2018 recipient of the Roy W. Dean From The Heart grant. As a filmmaker and a photographer, her work focuses on sharing untold stories that shed light on underrepresented groups of people, shattering stereotypes and reconstructing the narratives. She has co-presented two lectures, Women Who Help Women: For Women, the Doc is in and Stand For…Forgotten Emergencies (Media and the Intersection of Humanitarian Action and Social Justice).

Her photography has been shown in various exhibits, with the latest being featured at Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT. Her visual journalism and photography clients have included NBC, Hudson News, About.com and non-profit organizations.

 

David & Linda Cornfield, Executive Producers

David and Linda are philanthropists and environmentalists who believe in the power of film to spark curiosity and wonder and foster insight and understanding. They view documentaries as a way to connect with a broad audience and create a visceral, emotional and intellectual understanding of the challenges facing our world.

Caryn Capotosto, Executive Producer

Caryn is a documentary producer from Chicago. Most recently she produced Won’t You Be My Neighbor? – the critically acclaimed and top-grossing documentary film of 2018 released by Focus Features. She received a 2016 News and Documentary Emmy Award for her role as Co-Producer on Best of Enemies and she was Associate Producer on the Academy Award and Grammy Award-winning documentary, 20 Feet from Stardom (2013). Her feature docs include Afghan Cycles (Executive Producer, 2018) The Music of Strangers: Yo-Yo Ma and The Silk Road Ensemble (Associate Producer, 2015), Filmage: The Story of Descendents / ALL (Co-Producer, 2014), and Crossfire Hurricane (HBO, 2012). Other recent projects include the documentary series Ugly Delicious (Executive Producer, 2018), Abstract: The Art of Design and Chelsea Does (Supervising Producer for Tremolo, 2016) all for Netflix.

Chelsea Jackson Editor, Story Advisor, Cinematographer

Chelsea Jackson is an award-winning documentary filmmaker who focuses on editing and story advising. Chelsea has edited dozens of documentary-centric short films for clients such as National Geographic, UCHealth, Greenpeace, Unreasonable, Barclays, Gaia Herbs, Sierra Designs, Pangea Organics, Outdoor Industry Association, YogaGlo, and many more. Some common threads through this work and Chelsea’s personal projects are a celebration of science, nature, well-being, education, community, and the value of time spent outdoors.

A mother of two young boys, Chelsea owns and runs Jackson House Films in Longmont, Colorado with her husband Rob. When she’s not obsessing over each of the 24 frames that comprise one second of a film, Chelsea loves being outside with her family and their beloved (if not troubled) border collie rescue.

Jane Julian, Producer

Jane Julian is the programming director of the Port Townsend Film Festival since 2009. In addition, she consults with a few other festivals on documentary programming: DocLands in Marin County, CA; Woods Hole Film Fest in MA; and Mountainfilm in Telluride. This past October she launched a new documentary film festival in Mancos, CO near her home in Durango, CO called the Mancos DocFest.

His production company, Slo, produces and promotes minimal, real-time films that employ natural aural aesthetics and stunning yet honest visuals to elevate the seemingly mundane. The slow film, Cold Hudson is his directorial debut and most ambitious film project to date. He was an early participant of interactive documentaries, working on story development and sound design for Good Luck Soup and the Emmy nominated and Peabody award winning HOLLOW.

Mark Crawford, Composer

Mark Crawford is an Emmy-nominated composer, director, and producer that has traveled the world making films and absorbing cultures. His music and video work have been included in programs featured on National Geographic California Academy of Science, Harvard Kennedy School Fast Company, and additional music for the award-winning feature documentaries Chasing Coral (2017) and Chasing Ice (2012). He was previously the co-founder of Unreasonable Media a production company dedicated to leveraging the power of stories to shift paradigms and solve problems. During his time with Unreasonable Media, he led teams and produced documentaries in 30 countries to date.

Jenny Nichols, Illustrator

Harnessing the power of visual media to tell stories, Jenny works to create films that will act as tipping points in conservation campaigns. Jenny thrives on multidisciplinary projects and collaborates with a dedicated community of photojournalists, filmmakers, writers, illustrators, scientists and conservation organizations. These collaborations have led her to put more time into her artwork. Using a mix of ink and watercolor, her artwork is joyful and accessible, while always having a connection to the threats facing the species’ future.
